Intel unveils a world leading high performance computing (HPC) facility in the UK.


The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) at Sci-Tech Daresbury, recently unveiled a world-leading high-performance computing (HPC) facility for the UK scientific community. IBM System x iDataPlex dx360 M4 servers powered by Intel® Xeon® processors E5-2670 provide data-intensive computing performance, while a software virtualization layer offers a unique, dynamically-assigned shared-memory capability.
