WWDC2012: iOS6, Retina Macs, SIRI and more rumors.

WWDC2012: iOS6, Retina Macs, SIRI and more rumors.

iOS 6 update rumors:

The high-profile debut of its own Maps app, which will allegedly replace Google Maps as the default mapping application on iOS.

The  the Siri voice-controlled virtual assistant will reportedly no longer be exclusive to the iPhone 4S in iOS 6, and head over to the iPad. And Facebook is expected to receive deep integration in iOS 6, just as Twitter did with iOS 5.
The full list of devices claimed to be supported by the iOS 6 beta are the first-generation iPad, iPad 2, and third-generation iPad; the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S; the fourth-generation iPod touch; and the second- and third-generation Apple TV.
If the links are legitimate, they would suggest that Apple plans to drop support for the third-generation iPod touch with the first beta of iOS 6.
Also included among the list of links is an unannounced Safari 6. They include a developer preview for OS X 10.7 Lion, and a separate uninstaller.

Other banners being hung around Moscone tease updates to Game Center for the forthcoming operating system Mac OS X Mountain Lion, and updates to AirPlay, which is used to connect iOS devices to computers and televisions.

Rumors: Retina Macs

A rumor out earlier today indicates that Apple may debut an all new line of laptops, simply called “MacBook,” which will be thinner than MacBook Pro models, but with the same computing power. The new MacBook laptops are also expected to sport high-resolution Retina displays similar to those found on the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, and the third-generation iPad.

Rumors of at least some new Mac computers receive the Retina upgrade appear all but confirmed give that a number of Mac-only applications have released updates to allow support for the higher resolution Retina displays.

WWDC2012: Apple may launch its new  own in-house 3D Map app. To abandon Google Maps.

The WWDC 2012 conference will take place in San Francisco, in June 11-15, and of one the keynotes might be related to the new Apple`s own in-house 3D Map app.

Between 2009 and 2011, Apple acquired three mapping companies in quick succession: Placebase, in 2009; 3-D mapping outfit Poly9 in 2010; and in 2011, C3 Technologies, a second 3-D mapping company.

Apple has been hard at work developing its own in-house mapping solution for iOS, and now it’s finally ready to debut it.

Apple will abandon Google’s mapping back-end in the next major iteration of iOS, that might come up in the WWDC2012.
